The Wizards
The Wizards are the only ones above the royals in Mersidia. This tiny elite group were students of Warlock, they were the most fascinated by him and proved their worth by their enthusiasm, courage and commitment to learn the ways of science or 'magic.'
It started where the spirit in the land was strongest, away from the fabled Moonstone and closer to the people. The students became known as wizards, a guiding light of all that is good and the best in people. Together they formed their school Parkerel. The picture-perfect forest was a meeting place for all people, before the tragedy.
Ever since, Reymis outlawed magic because of its association with the Dragon. A law that was never enforced too harshly for he feared retaliation, some civilians continued to brave the law and travelled to Parkerel to learn the ways of life and the universe.
As the land fractured, so did the type of student. Those that wanted to learn magic for their own benefit became known as Soothsayers, those that wanted to harm others were deemed Sorcerers and expelled by all.
The wizard's purpose was lost like all others. Reymis keeps magic for himself, leaving the work to his servants or more masters depending on one's point of view.
The wizards carry a burden heavier than Reymis, they too will now splinter in the new tragedy that will change their land forever. What lies ahead is a quest for help, for hope and a way to stop the war before it's too late.
