The Commanders
The military has been a relic in recent times in Mersidia, but that is about to change. Much like king Reymis, General Elson found little to do under the watchful eye of Warlock. Since Terlé, Mersidia has been in a tense state. Elsons main concern has been the enemies to the North and keeping civilians and wizards in line.
Elson and Reymis both had to watch their coming roles and purpose in life become hijacked by the one who supposedly came to help. Merrel coming into his command brought a fresh new approach to military affairs, creating new avenues in warfare that kept them entertained and in use for a little longer in a finite theatre.
The commanders from soldier to king turned on the people, plunging Balmera into a cesspit of debauchery, social climbing, blackmail and any other manner of game one could think of. This poisonous move has long since turned people across the land against their leaders and each other. Mersidia found itself returning to darker and more divided days.
This will come back to haunt its commanders in their hour of desperate need, and the price to pay is one without limits, or mercy.
